Livermore California Art Association
Mission Statement The Livermore Art Association is a sponsor or major participant in a number of shows and exhibitions including the LAA Annual Spring Art Show at the Barn, Art in the Vineyard at Wente Winery, Art Under the Oaks at Alden Lane Nursery, the Harvest Festival at Concannon Winery and Vineyard Images at the LAA Gallery. The LAA sponsors rotating exhibits of members' art at Virtues of Coffee, Goodenough Books, the Livermore City Council Chambers, Livermore First Street Project and the China Village Restaurant. The LAA is a co-participant with the Pleasanton Art League (PAL) in general monthly meetings that feature demonstrations by renowned artists. The LAA supports the Livermore Art Association Gallery at 2155-3rd Street, Livermore, California, a co-op sales opportunity for qualified member artists to display their work for sale and/or rental. The public is invited to visit the Gallery. LAA Members help judge local school artwork, teach art in the schools and demonstrate arts and crafts to organizations and community functions by request.
Livermore Art Association History In 1974 the LAA established its co-op gallery in the historic Carnegie Building. This facility serves as an art information center for the community as well as a gallery. Additionally, the art video library developed by the organization for its members is housed at the gallery, as are books, magazines, and other educational and informational materials.
As the group grew to over two
hundred members, it began a series of art shows and exhibits, which continue
to attract gifted and talented artists to display their craft. Large numbers
of visitors enjoy the LAA's annual Spring Show,
Art in the Vineyard at Wente Estate Vineyard,
Art Under the Oaks at Alden Lane
Nursery, and a theme show, Vineyard Images,
during the vineyards' Harvest Trails event.
